I am not my stereotype.
I am not lazy because I’m a teenager.
I am not an instigator because I’m a teenager.
I am not boring because I play the violin.
I am not posh because I’m British.
I am not fake because I wear make up.
I am not obsessed with physical appearance because I’m a girl.
I am not bad at sport because I’m female.
I am not my stereotype.
Wow…this is really lovely and relatable!☺

This is so true: stereotypes are so fake, and yet society persists to place them upon us

I know! A life without labels would be so different to what it is now.

Tell me about it; I get stereotyped because I’m blind – I must aspire to be a piano tuner. Of course I don’t – I want to be a journalist.but society deems that unacceptable.

It’s like if you ‘are’ or ‘do’ one thing, you instantly need to become something. It’s like everyone at school thinks that I have to become a violinist because I play. You should become a journalist!

Agree! Agree! Agree!Agree! Agree! Agree! Agree! Agree! Totally agree! I am gonna kill those people who think playing violin is boring! Violin/ Music is a huge part of my life, and I guess everyone’s too. And no one is fake because they put makeup! I mean how DUMB ARE YOU TO THINK THAT.Girls, or anyone for that matter, wear makeup for themselves to appear beautiful not for others! I totally support you in this! Great Post!!

Me too! These are just ones that people have actually said to me or messaged me about. People blatantly tell girls if they don’t look ‘good enough’ but are then the firsts to comment on how much make up they wear to cover it up. Thankyou 🙂

This is lovely. Stereotypes annoy the hell out of me. Like, why do they exist? We should be allowed to be ourselves and do what we like without having other people judge us because of it.

Omg yes!! I constantly get called a dumb blonde or hear people say I’m fake because I wear makeup or that I’m a nerd if I answer a question in class.

This happens a lot to me too and annoys me so much because they are just assumptions that people made of me, just because I do something or am something.
